Sam has been an expedition leader and explorer for over 25 years and has led hundreds of teams in deserts across Africa and the Middle East. His adventures have included an unsupported solo trek across the Dune Sea of the Namib Desert for which he was granted a fellowship at the Royal Geographical Society. Leading underprivileged young adults over the Sinai desert on behalf of the British Exploring Society and leading a team 350 miles up the Skeleton Coast to the Kunene River and across the dune sea to Serra Kafema which had never been done previously.
His experience, knowledge and network of friends is second to none which can be seen in the numerous award nominations he has received.
In 2019 he fulfilled a lifelong ambition and became a helicopter pilot.

Tim Davies
Tim’s passion for expeditions began in 2013 while enrolled with the British Exploring Society on the Trainee Leader Programme in Namibia. It was here that he met Sam and got his first taste of deserts. Since then he has spent his time broadening his experience in places such as Svalbard, Norway, the French Alps and the Sierra Nevada in Spain, where he is qualifying as a mountain guide.
In 2014 he was selected for the Land Rover Next Generation Explorer Challenge, and teamed up with Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Ben Saunders, Kenton Cool, Hannah White and Eric Loizeau to complete various winter survival challenges in a snowy mountainous environment.
Since 2015 he has focused on developing the Badlands programme, now a fully operational expedition location. Tim is a member of the British Exploring Society.
